KE/TZ/UG LBR HAProxy Re-start Guide

This guide provides step-by-step instructions to validate configuration, safely stop/start HAProxy, and report status across KE/TZ/UG LBR environments.

! Stop immediately if configuration validation fails or unexpected errors occur and escalate with logs and screenshots.

1. Connect to CyberArk using standard privileged access procedures and confirm an active session before proceeding.
2. Connect to LBR host per environment and elevate privileges as required.

   • KE/TZ/UG UAT Host → cont16059

   • UG PRODUCTION Host → cont12957

   i Use sudo su - after login if the host requires elevation to manage HAProxy.

3. Validate HAProxy configuration before any restart:

   haproxy -f /etc/haproxy -c

   ! Proceed only if the output states “Configuration is Valid”; take a screenshot of any alerts/warnings and pause the operation for review.

4. Stop the service:

   systemctl stop haproxy

5. Start the service:

   Copy
   systemctl start haproxy

   ! Stay connected during restart; if a CyberArk timeout drops the shell, send an urgent escalation email with host details and the current step.

6. Report final status to Support:

   systemctl status haproxy

• Do not proceed if configuration validation fails; gather outputs and escalate with artifacts for review.
• If shell disconnects during restart, immediately follow the escalation protocol and include host and command context in the subject and body.

• Verify network connectivity and elevation before restarting HAProxy to avoid partial changes.
• Save all terminal outputs and screenshots to expedite any required escalation.
• Keep an escalation email draft pre-filled to minimize response times during incidents.
